Nicole has been tattooing since 2009, she was initially self taught, however wanting to ensure she was taken seriously as an artist she sought out an apprenticeship in 2015 to hone her skills and knowledge.
Originally from Port Elizabeth, Nicole met with a bit of resistance from her family when she showed interest in being a tattoo artist and so she started her journey studying media and psychology at UJ and Wits.
She takes inspiration from nature, the female face and form and her son’s drawings. She enjoys doing “lifework pieces, with a whimsical feel. Her designs are delicate with a slightly twisted side. She takes inspiration from Mo Gnaji, Pony Reinhardt, Dino Nemec, and Lisa Orth.
“I hope that I never stop learning, because once you think you know everything, theres no reason to keep going. “
