Rodney has been tattooing for 15 years. Growing up in a small mining town , and attending a technical school, tattooing and art wasn’t really on the cards, but destiny smiled on him and he has never had to do any other work aside from being a tattoo artist.
He is inspired by his faith and tries to embrace the beauty of the moments in life, this subdues the monotony of a humdrum existence. He is also very inspired by his surroundings.
His preferred style is illustrative black and grey as well as black and grey realism.
Rodney, having already travelled to the UK and to Namibia with his work, would like to do some more tattooing and traveling the world in the next 5 years.
“An elderly friend/client once told me a story about how he played the bag pipes for many years and every time he played Amazing Grace at any time there wasn’t a dry eye left in the room, and that i shouldn’t consider myself bigger than amazing Grace, not just the song, but the significance of how we are just passing through and just a small part of something much bigger. He told me to always be humble and respect what i do as a gift and a privilege, I try to live by that.”
